Endodontics

THE BEST IN
ENDODONTICS

We would love it if our patients didn’t need endodontics but some do. That’s why we provide the best care for those needing a root canal. Endodontics is a way to relieve tooth pain, swelling, clear an infection, and save a tooth. It is a relatively painless procedure that can be done in an hour, depending on the severity of the case.

When It Hurts

Many people don’t realize they need a root canal until the tooth pain becomes unbearable. Your gums and jaw can swell and it looks inflamed.

Don’t think you can resolve this on your own. Infections don’t go away. Call us on our emergency number or schedule an appointment.

Can the Tooth Be Saved?

Root canals are a way to save a tooth from severe infection. A dentist drills into the tooth to remove the infection and puts a crown on the tooth to prevent a reoccurrence. Teeth that can’t be saved are extracted without a root canal and the dentist cleans the area before stitching it up.

Endodontic Care FAQs

What is endodontics or root canal therapy?
Endodontics is the specialty dealing with teeth root issues. Root canals remove infections, relieve pain and swelling and can save the tooth.
When is a root canal needed?
A root canal is the only option when the tooth pulp, also called the root, is infected by bacteria. A root canal drains the infection to prevent tooth decay and loss.
Does the procedure hurt?
No, root canals aren’t like they once were. At Charisma Dental, we numb the area so you don’t feel pain. You will feel pressure but not a lot of discomfort.
How long does a root canal take?
It depends on how complex the case is but most can be done in an hour.
What happens after the root canal procedure?
You will get a customized crown installed after treatment. The crown protects the tooth and strengthens it to allow for normal chewing function. We may put a temporary crown on initially until the permanent one is made.
What if the tooth can’t be saved?
Sometimes, a tooth is too damaged to be saved. Our dentist may recommend removing it rather than performing a root canal.
Is there follow-up care after an endodontic treatment?
Yes, we at Charisma Dental will make a follow-up appointment to ensure healing and that the tooth remains healthy.
Where is Charisma Dental located and how do I book for treatment?
Charisma Dental is located at 9000 Jane St, Concord (Vaughan), Ontario. Call 905-552-1153 or book an appointment online.
